What is Shockwave Therapy?
Shockwave therapy, or Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT), is a non-invasive treatment that uses sound waves to stimulate healing in damaged soft tissues. It increases blood flow and promotes cell regeneration to break down scar tissue, reduce pain, and improve mobility.
Conditions we can use Shockwave therapy for:
Plantar fasciitis.
Tennis elbow.
Golfers elbow
Patellar tendonitis
High hamstring tendinopathy.
Achilles tendonitis
Rotator cuff tendinopathy
Greater trochanteric pain syndrome.
Calcific tendonitis.
Patients typically require 3-5 sessions of shockwave therapy to help resolve their condition. This will always be alongside a rehabilitation plan involving exercise, activity modification and ‘hands on therapy’.
There is no additional cost to you beyond our consultation fee for shockwave therapy.
“I came to the clinic recently with Achilles tendinopathy. I have used the clinic before for back and leg problems. The receptionist has always been very welcoming and the treatment from Andrew Alden has been excellent. This time was no exception. He used massage and ultrasound, and gave me a series of exercises both for home and on machines at the gym, all of which have worked really well. He also advised me when he thought that visits were no longer necessary, which I feel is very professional. There are places which will keep you attending for as long as they can get away with it!
